Movie theaters and other select establishments will reopen on 1 March with guidelines from Metro Manila local officials.
Local government executives in the Metro expressed apprehension, citing risk of the virus spreading in airconditioned and enclosed spaces, and deferred the IATF’s (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases) earlier scheduled reopening.
Ventilation requirements for enclosed spaces such as cinemas will be issued by the labor department (DOLE). “They consulted with an epidemiologist so they can provide requirements for ventilation, especially for enclosed spaces, to prevent the spread of infection,” Health undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said.
